Sustainability
Heritage with a Future
protecting the future of our heritage & Environment
At St. Helen’s, sustainability is central to how we operate every day. We believe protecting the environment and supporting our community are essential to creating a meaningful guest experience. From efficient energy and water management to reducing waste and sourcing responsibly, we are committed to making choices that have a positive impact now and in the future. Sustainability is not just a policy here, it is a practice woven into everything we do.
At St. Helen’s, sustainability is not an afterthought, it is part of how we define luxury today. We believe a truly five-star experience means caring for the environment, preserving our historic estate, and supporting the community that surrounds us. Every decision, from how we source ingredients to how we manage waste, is made with long-term responsibility in mind.
St. Helen’s has become a place where people gather to celebrate, connect, and experience something special. Eleven flexible meeting and event rooms host everything from weddings to international conferences, while four acres of landscaped gardens provide an escape from the pace of the city. The Orangerie Bar, beneath its Victorian glass roof, offers one of Dublin’s most distinctive lounge experiences, while Talavera continues a tradition of memorable dining.

A small look at some of what we do every day to protect our estate:
Working with suppliers to reduce packaging
Prioritising recyclable materials
Composting food and garden waste on site
Using electronic invoicing to reduce unnecessary paper
Providing regular staff training to maintain strong recycling and sustainability practices
Offering EV charging points for guests who travel by electric vehicle
Minimising waste to manage costs responsibly
Encouraging eco-friendly choices and experiences during every stay
